Warriors’ Draymond Green crushes Bills fans’ hope with brutal Josh Allen prediction

Warriors' Draymond Green crushes Bills fans' hope with brutal Josh Allen prediction image

Draymond Green knows what it takes to win an NBA championship, having done so four times with the Golden State Warriors. Known for his hot takes, Green doesn’t believe Buffalo Bills quarterback Josh Allen has the same clutch gene.

The reigning NFL MVP enters another Super Bowl hopeful season. While Allen’s regular-season credentials have never raised eyebrows, his lackluster performance when it matters the most has made Green believe that the QB doesn’t have what it takes to win a championship.

“He’s never going to get it done when it matters the most,” the Warriors veteran said. “And so I don’t care how Herculean of a comeback expert you have at home in week one, he’s never going to be the guy that’s going to come out and win a championship and be the guy when it matters the most; he’s not the guy.”

Green’s harsh take comes after Allen led the Bills’ fourth-quarter comeback to win 41-40 against Lamar Jackson’s Baltimore Ravens in Week 1. The quarterback completed 33-of-46 passes for 394 yards and two touchdowns. He also scored two rushing touchdowns as he kicks off another season on a high note.

Do results back Green’s criticism of Allen?

The mouthful of Draymond Green isn’t out of nowhere. Josh Allen has made 13 starts in the playoffs and despite that, he’s still searching for his first Super Bowl appearance. That’s the most starts for a QB without a Super Bowl appearance.

The Kansas City Chiefs have proven to be a major obstacle. Allen has repeatedly run into an encounter against Patrick Mahomes’ group (2021, 2022, 2024, 2025) in the playoffs and each time his team has come up short.

However, one cannot blame Allen for the team’s shortcomings. He has a career passing rating of around 100.2 with more touchdowns and interceptions against the Chiefs. In many playoff defeats, Buffalo’s defense has let them down. But the fact of the matter is, the Bills are without a Super Bowl appearance under Allen. Under a larger scheme of things, this is all that matters.
