Spurs Eye Cut-Price Deal for Estupiñán as De Zerbi Targets Familiar Reinforcement

Spurs Eye Cut-Price Deal for Estupiñán as De Zerbi Targets Familiar Reinforcement - Nestdish

Tottenham Hotspur may be locked in a battle to preserve their Premier League status, but work behind the scenes on summer recruitment is already in motion.

Roberto De Zerbi, set to take charge in North London on a five-year contract, is expected to have a major influence on the club’s rebuild. Strengthening the left-back position is among the priorities, with a familiar face from his previous tenure now on the radar.

Pervis Estupiñán, who joined AC Milan from Brighton last summer, has recently been linked with a switch to Spurs. The Ecuadorian defender excelled under De Zerbi at the Amex Stadium, though his spell at the San Siro has not unfolded as hoped.

Reports from Italy suggest Milan are open to offloading the 28-year-old just a year after signing him. MilanLive indicates that both club and player are likely to part ways at the end of the season, with De Zerbi interested in reuniting.

Further updates claim Milan are ready to accept a lower fee for Estupiñán. Having paid around €19m (£16.4m), CalcioMercato reports they could now consider offers closer to €14m (£12m).

At that valuation, Tottenham could attract competition from other Premier League sides, but De Zerbi’s strong connection with the player may give Spurs a decisive advantage.
