And they have made the perfect start to the 2024 season, winning all nine games.
Amid their sensational run, Hopkins, who joined from Tennessee Titans ahead of the new campaign, posted an image of iconic Patriots quarterback-wide receiver partnership Brady and Moss.
Many took it as wide receiver Hopkins saying he could be a part of a similarly dynamic duo alongside quarterback Mahomes – who is going for his fourth Super Bowl.
And the Chiefs’ QB has been asked about the picture shared by Hopkins.
But Mahomes insists he will not share a replica photo until they have won the Super Bowl this season.
Speaking in a press conference, he said: “It was definitely a cool photo because you know what they did together.
“DHop is on that level where he is going to be a Hall of Famer – and I’m trying to get as close to Tom as possible.
“But other than the stats and that type of stuff, I want to get that Super Bowl ring.
“So if we can go and get that one I’ll be good to post a picture of our own.”
Next up for the Chiefs is Sunday’s clash with the Buffalo Bills – who have won all of their last five games.
And Mahomes admitted following the Chiefs’ 16-14 win over the Denver Broncos that his team will need to improve if they are to continue their winning streak.
