If you have ever wondered why starting Boston Celtics point guard Derrick White has managed to look like such a polished vet while still being just 30 years old, the secret is that the Colorado native learned from one of the best to ever move the rock.

Back when a younger White was playing for the San Antonio Spurs, he had the chance to learn the finer arts of guard play from Spurs legend Manu Ginobli, who taught the young the University of Colorado alum the tricks of the trade that helped make him unstoppable on the court. He also picked up some savvy veteran tricks from teammate Danny Green while in San Antonio — and we imagine playing under iconic head coach Gregg Popovich did not hurt either.

The Celtics point guard recently told the tale of how this came to be on a recent appearance on the “Young Man and the 3” podcast. Check it out below!
