Real Madrid have identified Rodri as the midfielder who can elevate their team and replace Luka Modric.
According to Diario AS, Rodri is Madrid’s favourite transfer target. They will go for him regardless of the price this summer.
Rodri missed the season with an ACL injury but has returned to action and could play against Madrid at the Club World Cup next month.
Madrid are trying to build a core of Spanish players after signing Dean Huijsen; Rodri is their next target. The Spanish midfielder is 28, with a contract at Manchester City that expires in 2027.
Meanwhile, Madrid have also been linked with Chelsea’s Enzo Fernandez and Stuttgart’s Angelo Stiller. Rodri and Fernandez are the most expensive of the three linked midfielders.
