Real Madrid Target Triple Signing Ahead of Club World Cup After El Clásico Defeat

Real Madrid are planning to secure three key signings before the FIFA Club World Cup (June 15 – July 13, 2025) in response to their 4-3 loss to Barcelona, which left them trailing by seven points in La Liga with just three games remaining, according to *El Chiringuito*.

**Trent Alexander-Arnold**, Liverpool’s 26-year-old right-back, has agreed to join Los Blancos on a free transfer when his contract expires on June 30. However, *Fabrizio Romano* reports that Madrid are pushing for an early release, possibly for a small fee, to have him available for the Club World Cup. His arrival is seen as a direct replacement for the struggling Lucas Vázquez and vital cover for Dani Carvajal, who is still recovering from an ACL injury.

In central defense, **Dean Huijsen** of Bournemouth is Madrid’s top target. The 20-year-old Spaniard, valued at €58 million, is reportedly favoring a move to the Bernabéu over Chelsea and Liverpool, who have submitted concrete offers. Real are working on lowering the fee or proposing a player swap to ease the defensive crisis, with only Antonio Rüdiger and Raul Asencio fit among the senior center-backs. Alternatives like Ibrahima Konaté (Liverpool) and William Saliba (Arsenal) are being considered but would require significantly higher fees.

At left-back, **Ajax’s Jorrel Hato**, just 19, is high on the list due to his versatility and potential to replace David Alaba. However, his €30 million price tag and a contract running until 2028 make negotiations difficult, with Chelsea currently ahead in the race. **Benfica’s Álvaro Carreras**, 22, is also an option but talks are less advanced due to financial constraints.

These signings are being strategically planned to strengthen the squad for the Club World Cup, which could serve as a proving ground for incoming manager **Xabi Alonso** and his expected 3-4-2-1 system. **Carlo Ancelotti** is tipped to take over the Brazil national team, with **Santiago Solari** likely stepping in as interim coach. Real Madrid also plan to extend **Luka Modric** and **Lucas Vázquez’s** contracts short-term to ensure they can contribute during the tournament. However, the mid-June schedule presents a logistical challenge, as most player contracts expire at the end of the month.
