Los Angeles Dodgers outfielder Andy Pages has emerged as one of the team’s most productive players, but the 2025 season began with a frustrating slump.

After showing flashes of brilliance in his rookie season, Pages went 4-for-34 to begin the year. The 24-year-old’s slow start spurned conversations with several people in the Dodgers organization.

Manager Dave Roberts, who has earned a reputation for sticking by his players in tough times, encouraged Pages to refrain from overthinking and trust who he was as a big league hitter.

“Hitting is not hard for him,” Roberts said to The Athletic’s Fabian Ardaya. “It’s his superpower.”

Heading into Saturday’s game against the Arizona Diamondbacks, Pages is hitting .282 with six home runs, 19 RBIs and an OPS of .824. In Friday’s comeback victory, Pages went 2-for-5 with a double and three RBIs.

President of baseball operations Andrew Friedman was also one of the people who met with Pages amid his early season slump, and reiterated the team’s faith in his abilities…

“It was helpful to him to hear from so many different people in the organization just how much we believe in him, for him to exhale and go out and have fun playing the game,” Friedman said. “He’s a really gifted natural hitter. There aren’t a ton of those guys on planet Earth.”

Now, Pages is performing at the rate the Dodgers hoped and knew he would.
