A spot in the NBA Playoffs will be on the line for the Golden State Warriors on Sunday as they host the Los Angeles Clippers in their final game of the season.
A win will allow the Warriors to secure the No. 6 seed in the West, which means that they will avoid the play-in tournament. A loss, however, could see them fall to seventh, where they will need to battle either the Minnesota Timberwolves or the Memphis Grizzlies to lock in the No. 7 seed.
The bad news for Warriors fans is that Steph Curry is now officially in danger of missing Sunday’s pivotal matchup. This is after the team listed the former back-to-back MVP as questionable to play for the contest due to a right thumb sprain.

Curry was forced to exit Friday’s 103-86 win over the Portland Trail Blazers after he suffered a thumb injury in the first quarter. The 11-time All-Star returned to the game in the second quarter, though, and was able to see out the win.
Curry admitted after the game that his thumb “hurts right now,” but he declared his intention to play on Sunday against L.A. The fact that he is now considered questionable to play contradicts his previous declaration.
The silver lining here is that Curry has not been ruled out for the game. This could be a game-time decision for the Warriors, and there’s still always a chance that the 37-year-old plays through the injury — especially with what’s at stake.
It is also important to note that the Clippers are also fighting for a guaranteed playoff spot. A win against the Warriors will see them secured at fifth, but a loss could still force them to take the play-in path to the postseason.
