KANSAS CITY, Mo. (KCTV) – President Trump says he plans to keep a long-time White House tradition: inviting the winning Super Bowl team to the White House.

The Philadelphia Eagles, which beat the Kansas City Chiefs in Super Bowl LIX, will visit the White House on April 28. The president said on March 22, that he will also host the Chiefs at the White House to celebrate their Super Bowl LIV win in 2020. The invite was revealed in a one-on-one interview with Clay Travis on Air Force One.

The team was invited in 2020 but declined due to concerns about COVID-19.

President Trump said he wants to make up what was lost for the Super Bowl LIV champions. If the team accepts, it will mark the third time the Chiefs travel to the White House. The Chiefs beat the San Francisco 49ers 31-20 at Hard Rock Stadium in Miami Gardens, Florida.

When the Chiefs visited the White House in 2024 after winning Super Bowl LVIII, President Biden was gifted a helmet and proceeded to put it on. The Chiefs beat the 49ers 25-22 at Allegiant Stadium in Paradise, Nevada.
