BREAKING: Chris Jones’ Parting Message After Losing Super Bowl

Chris Jones and the Kansas City Chiefs couldn’t get it done on Sunday night, falling to Jalen Hurts and the Philadelphia Eagles 40-22 in Super Bowl LIX.

The Chiefs couldn’t get anything going on offense in the first half, scoring zero points and throwing two interceptions, one of which was returned for a touchdown. Jones and the defensive line did a solid job stopping running back Saquon Barkley, who had his worst performance of the postseason with 25 carries for 57 yards.

But quarterback Jalen Hurts proved to be too much, especially with the offense nowhere to be found. Hurts was responsible for three of Philadelphia’s touchdowns, winning Super Bowl MVP.

On Monday, Jones, the former Mississippi State standout, took to social media to send a parting message to Kansas City fans following the heartbreaking loss.

“What a year….KC,” Jones wrote on X.

Jones is one of the longest-tenured Chiefs players on the team, being with the organization since 2016. He has become an integral part of the recent dynasty, helping Kansas City bring home three Lombardy trophies.

Jones saw his production take a slight dip this season, tallying just 37 tackles and five sacks. Still, his overall play was good enough to warrant a spot on the first-team All-Pro, his third-straight season with this achievement.

Jones wasn’t much of a factor in Super Bowl LIX, tallying just one QB hit. He was, however, forced to leave the game early after suffering a knee injury.

Jones will be entering just the second year of his five-year, $158.75 million extension, so he should make his way back to the Chiefs for another crack at a fourth ring in the 2025 NFL season.
