Chicago Bulls: Major Nikola Vucevic to Golden State Warriors Update Before Trade Deadline

With the trade deadline around the corner, a lot of teams might be scrambling to make something happen. The Golden State Warriors might be among them, as they try to add a superstar to team up with Stephen Curry.

The Warriors have been linked with Kevin Durant, LeBron James, Paul George and more over the past few days. Amid all this, one cannot forget that the Warriors were believed to hold an interest in Nikola Vucevic of the Chicago Bulls as well. The Bulls recently traded Zach LaVine. And they are believed to be willing to part with Vucevic as well if the right offer is put on the table.

The rumor is that the Bulls are holding out for a first-round pick for Vucevic, which has proven to be a steep ask. But as we get closer to the trade deadline, who knows where teams will stand on that? There is an update on the situation of Vucevic though and it is not good news for those hoping to see him depart Chicago before the trade deadline.

According to Joe Cowley in the Chicago Sun-Times: “According to multiple sources, Karnisovas had two deals for center Nikola Vucevic fall apart Tuesday, forcing the front office into a complete reset that might result in Vucevic staying with the Bulls for the rest of the season, then being shopped during the summer.

“One of the sources stressed the situation remained fluid. But as of game time Tuesday against the Heat, there was no momentum for a deal to be done and no new talks with another team.” So, it looks like Vucevic might end up staying with the Bulls.

Once again, they seem to have failed to find a suitable trade partner for the veteran center despite the fact that he is playing some of the best basketball of his career right now.

It remains to be seen what that means for the Warriors’ plans heading into the trade deadline. Vucevic does not appear to be headed to Golden State but what about the other names the Warriors have been linked with over the past few days?
