Insider Says Bulls Could Make More Moves At Trade Deadline

The Chicago Bulls continue to move closer to a rebuild.

With Zach LaVine traded away, they might finally give rookie forward Matas Buzelis a longer leash.

Veteran PG Lonzo Ball is another potential trade or buyout candidate, and the Bulls will stay active in the trade market.

According to a report by Darnell Mayberry of The Athletic (via NBA Central), starting center Nikola Vucevic is another potential odd man out:

“But the Bulls aren’t done with this year’s deadline, according to a team source. The Bulls are still evaluating multiple scenarios with only two days remaining before Thursday. Starting center Nikola Vučević likely is a trade candidate,” he wrote.

Vucevic had a down year last season, but he’s brought his trade value back up this year.

While not a good defender by any means, he’s always excelled on both ends of the glass, and his ability to stretch the floor with his three-point shooting is a welcome commodity around the league.

The Bulls tried to hold onto their core for too long, but they were never that good to be a legitimate championship contender, nor that bad to bottom out and have a top-three pick in the NBA Draft.

They just got one of their picks back in the Zach LaVine trade, and they might be able to get either a young player or another late-first-rounder in return for their veteran big man.

There have also been rumblings about them potentially looking to move on from Patrick Williams, who’s been fairly disappointing after being a top-five selection years ago.

This has been long overdue, and it appears that the Bulls are finally prepared to commit to a rebuilding process that could truly get them back to the top.
