BREAKING: Yankees Star Predicted to Betray New York for $28 Million Deal With NL Team

The New York Yankees have been busy upgrading their roster after losing the Juan Soto sweepstakes. General manager Brian Cashman still has a hole at second base. Could he fill it by re-signing two-time All-Star Gleyber Torres?

Earlier in the year, Torres publicly stated how he wanted to be a Yankee for life. However, Cashman remained non-committal and a reunion between the Bombers and the infielder seems unlikely. After posting a .800 OPS with 25 home runs and 68 RBI in 2023, Torres finished 2024 with a .709 OPS, 15 homers and 63 RBI.

Could the Washington Nationals be a legitimate landing spot for the 28-year-old slugger? Just Baseball’s Ryan Finkelstein thinks Torres is destined to land in the nation’s capital.

“Being that he is one of the few starting second basemen on the market, with utility infielders Ha-Seong Kim and Jose Iglesias representing the other top free agent options at the position, Torres should have plenty of interest,” Finkelstein said. “With that said, teams may be wary of committing too many years to Torres, despite the fact that he is only 28 years old.”

Heading into the 2024 season, Torres’ projected value for a multi-year deal stood at four years and $68 million, per The Athletic’s Tim Britton. But a subpar campaign has driven his market value down quite a bit. Spotrac is projecting a three-year, $20 million contract for the second baseman. Finkelstein is predicting $28 million pact over two years for Torres, which includes an opt-out after 2025.

The ugly underbelly of football fandom has once again been exposed, and this time it centres on Kevin Danso. What should have been a routine post-match discussion following Tottenham Hotspur’s recent Premier League fixture against Brighton & Hove Albion quickly escalated into something far more disturbing. Instead of debate over tactics, performance, or results, the narrative was hijacked by vile, racially charged abuse directed at Danso across social media platforms.
