Taylor Swift\u00a0is due for some good \u201ckarma,\u201d according to professional wrestler Jeff Jarrett.<\/p>\n
In a new interview with\u00a0TMZ Sports, the WWE Hall of Famer, 58, said he\u2019s known the pop star, 35, since she \u201cwas a little girl.\u201d Swift not only babysat his daughters, but also performed at an impromptu and intimate concert at his home after his wife was diagnosed with cancer, he said.<\/p>\n
The \u201cShake It Off\u201d singer was very young when she and her family moved to Jarrett\u2019s hometown of Hendersonville, Tenn., Jarrett told TMZ. He grew accustomed to seeing the then-rising star who has \u201cthe legendary story\u201d of \u201cknocking on labels\u2019 doors,\u201d which made her stand out in their \u201csmall community.\u201d<\/p>\nTaylor Swift in December 2024.<\/strong>Kevin Winter\/TAS24\/Getty<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n
\u201cIt was Christmas of 2006. My first wife [Jill Gregory] was really ill with breast cancer. She passed away about five months after this, so she was really ill,\u201d Jarrett explained.<\/p>\n
According to Jarrett, a friend of Swift\u2019s suggested she stop by his family\u2019s home, which was music to his daughters\u2019 ears.\u00a0By then, Swift had already scored her first hit with \u201cTim McGraw\u201d and her self-titled debut album.<\/p>\n
\u201cObviously, like every little girl in America, my daughters were big Taylor fans, and her songs had just kind of broke, but she was a hometown girl,\u201d he continued, noting that she was a big deal in Tennessee before the rest of the world caught on.<\/p>\n
Jarrett remembered their holiday get-together as \u201can amazing experience.\u201d<\/p>\n
Swift originally arrived without her guitar, but \u201cactually ran back home\u201d to get it after realizing what a difference it would make, \u201c\u2018cause the girls wanted her to sing and play.\u201d<\/p>\n
There were only about seven people at the Jarrett home at the start of the day, but \u201cone thing let to another,\u201d and the gathering quickly grew to about 45 people after Swift got her guitar, Jarrett recalled.<\/p>\n
\u201cBy the end of the afternoon, Taylor played about three hours,\u201d Jarrett said.<\/p>\n
Jarrett knew Swift and her family beforehand from seeing them around town. \u201cShe kind of bonded with the family, specifically with the girls,\u201d Jarrett emotionally told TMZ Sports, which published photos of Swift with Jarrett\u2019s family.<\/p>\nJeff Jarrett during The AEW Wrestling Dynamite in 2023.<\/strong>Larry Marano\/Shutterstock<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n
In one photo, Swift sat on a log for a daytime outing at the beach with him, his late wife, four kids and another teen. Another photo showed the Grammy winner inside a home, standing with Jarrett and two little girls who played on a keyboard.<\/p>\n
When asked how his daughters feel now to have seen her go from their babysitter to a global superstar, Jarrett laughed. While she was loved by his kids and hung out with them, she wasn\u2019t necessarily on his \u201cpayroll,\u201d he joked.<\/p>\n
