Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce could tie the knot in Rhode Island, a source tells Page Six.<\/p>\n
While some publications have said the pair are in\u00a0no rush to wed, our insider tells us \u201cThey are getting married next summer in Rhode Island. She is in a hurry to have children.\u201d<\/p>\n
While a wedding this high-profile can draw gripes from locals (see Jeff Bezos and Lauren Sanchez\u2019s\u00a0Venice nuptials), Rhode Island Gov. Dan McKee is rooting for the pair choose his state for their nuptials.<\/p>\n
\u201cRhode Island has some of the best wedding venues in the world, just saying,\u201d\u00a0McKee said on a repost\u00a0of the couple\u2019s wedding announcement on social media last week.<\/p>\n Swift\u2019s mansion in the town of Westerly\u2019s Watch Hill area is currently undergoing a $1.7 million renovation\u00a0according to a building\u00a0permit obtained by the Providence Journal.<\/p>\n Updates will include a new wing with a 16-by-24 feet bedroom and more bathrooms, and an update to the kitchen.<\/p>\n Swift purchased the home in 2013 for $17.5 million, and it already includes 8 bedrooms, 10 bathrooms and 5.23 acres with gardens and a swimming pool.<\/p>\n The manse became famous for Swift\u2019s star-studded Fourth of July parties. And last August, Kelce and his Kansas City Chiefs teammate Patrick Mahomes were spotted at one of her pool bashes.<\/p>\n Swift even immortalized the estate in her hit, \u201cThe Last Great American Dynasty,\u201d off the 2020 album \u201cFolklore.\u201d<\/p>\n The lyrics tell the tale of the mansion\u2019s former owner, Rebekah Harkness, the scandalous socialite who wed Standard Oil heir William Hale Harkness in 1947 and used to fill the pool with champagne.<\/p>\n It is unclear whether the wedding would take place at her home or a venue in the area.<\/p>\n (In June, a so-called \u201cTaylor Swift Tax\u201d was\u00a0passed in the state, charging non-primary residents $2.50 for every $500 of assessed property value above $1 million.)<\/p>\n Page Six previously reported the couple\u00a0plan to have a \u201cprivate\u201d ceremony\u00a0with family and close friends.<\/p>\n \u201cIt will be more casual than people think,\u201d a source told us.<\/p>\n The Grammy-winning singer and the Super Bowl champ\u00a0announced their engagement\u00a0on Aug. 26 with a series of photos taken in his garden with the caption, \u201cYour English teacher and your gym teacher are getting married.\u201d<\/p>\n On the Sept. 3 episode Kelce\u2019s\u00a0podcast, his cohost brother Jason said, \u201cI cannot wait to hear more of the planning and everything that will take place.
