All in all, before his switch to Manchester City, Kyle Walker made 229 appearances for Tottenham Hotspur, eventually leaving the club in 2017.<\/p>\n
Walker was delighted to join Man City to work with Pep Guardiola, who he felt could take his game to the next level after leaving Tottenham.<\/p>\n
Of course, 310 appearances and six Premier League titles later, Walker\u2019s decision has been justified, a player who has won it all in Manchester.<\/p>\n
That being said, when speaking on his self-titled podcast recently, it wasn\u2019t a City teammate who Walker chose as the best trainer he\u2019s seen in his career.<\/p>\n
Kyle Walker says Danny Rose was incredibly professional at Tottenham<\/p>\n
Walker harped back to his Tottenham days and actually gave a ton of credit to\u00a0Danny Rose, who was often his opposing full-back in N17.<\/p>\n
Now retired, Rose made 214 appearances himself for Spurs, a player who will always be fondly remembered at the club.<\/p>\n
That being said, Walker provided some insight into Rose\u2019s approach behind the scenes on the podcast, paying him a huge compliment.<\/p>\n
Walker said: \u201cI promise you, he is the best trainer I have ever seen in football ever. It was 110% every time.<\/p>\n
\u201cI\u2019m not saying he\u2019s the best trainer and he can\u2019t play football. On Saturday, he was still good.<\/p>\n
\u201cFirst one in training, all the time, he\u2019d be doing his stuff and be the best trainer every day and if you played for Tottenham you couldn\u2019t tell me otherwise.<\/p>\n
\u201cMy last season with me and him on the wings was a joy.\u201d<\/p>\n
Why did Danny Rose leave Tottenham?<\/p>\n
After retiring,\u00a0Rose admitted that he could have joined Chelsea instead of Tottenham, a move that would have led to a very different career.<\/p>\n
That being said, Rose still ended up playing under one of Chelsea\u2019s most iconic managers, Jose Mourinho.<\/p>\n
And it was Mourinho\u2019s decision to leave Rose on the sidelines which eventually led to the defender\u2019s decision to leave.<\/p>\n
Speaking on the Spurs \u2018All or Nothing\u2019 documentary, Mourinho was quite candid when he explained to Rose why he wasn\u2019t playing.<\/p>\n
Mourinho said: \u201cLet me try to be as open as I can with you, because I think you deserve that.<\/p>\n
\u201cWhen I arrived, you played some matches, you were on the bench some matches, I didn\u2019t select you in other matches.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe week before Liverpool you were fantastic in training and that made me decide that in the most difficult game against the most difficult opponent, you play.<\/p>\n
\u201cI think you didn\u2019t play well. The next game against Middlesbrough [Japhet] Tanganga played so well, and is so strong defensively, and doesn\u2019t make any kind of mistakes because he\u2019s so fast and so powerful.<\/p>\n
