The Los Angeles Lakers are entering the 2025-26 NBA season without any huge changes to the roster.<\/p>\n
Deandre Ayton was the biggest offseason addition and will provide the legitimate starting center that LeBron James and Luka Doncic desperately needed last season.<\/p>\n
Rob Pelinka and company are opting to head into the upcoming year with Doncic and James leading the charge. It’s possible that James could be heading into his final year with the franchise, but for now he remains a focal point.<\/p>\n
Along with Ayton, the Lakers went out and added both Marcus Smart and Jake LaRavia in NBA free agency.<\/p>\n

Acquiring superstar forward Giannis Antetokounmpo from the Milwaukee Bucks is clearly something that the Lakers would love to do.<\/p>\n
With that in mind, Anthony Irwin of ClutchPoints has shared that Los Angeles already has the centerpiece of that potential trade already in place.<\/p>\n
Irwin believes that Austin Reaves will be the key player who would head back to the Bucks in any potential Antetokounmpo trade.<\/p>\n
“It’s almost a surefire thing that if the Lakers and the Bucks get into trade negotiations for Giannis, the first name in terms of players that Milwaukee is going to ask about is Reaves,” Irwin said. “And then it’s like, well, ‘Do you want Giannis or do you want to try to keep Reaves here?'”<\/em><\/p>\n Again, this is far from a realistic possibility right now. Antetokounmpo has not asked for a trade out of Milwaukee and he may not. It’s simply something to keep an eye on moving forward. Antetokounmpo is sure to be in the NBA rumor mill moving forward.<\/p>\n If he ever does decide that he wants to leave Milwaukee, Los Angeles would be a team to watch very closely.
