The previous record was held by Swift\u2019s\u00a0<em>The Tortured Poets Department<\/em>\u00a0in 2024. The\u00a0streaming\u00a0giant shared the news Monday morning on its official\u00a0Instagram\u00a0and\u00a0X\u00a0accounts.<\/p>\n<p>Spotify\u2019s Countdown Page for\u00a0<em>The Life of a Showgirl<\/em>\u00a0launched on Aug. 14, accompanied by an\u00a0exclusive playlist\u00a0titled\u00a0<em>And, baby, that\u2019s show business for you<\/em>, a curated selection of 22 previously released tracks produced by the singer\u2019s longtime collaborators Max Martin and Shellback.<\/p>\n<p>This achievement marks yet another milestone in Swift\u2019s long-standing dominance on Spotify. Over the years, she has shattered numerous streaming records, including becoming the platform\u2019s\u00a0most-streamed artist of 2024\u00a0with more than 26.6 billion global streams.<\/p>\n<p>Swift\u00a0announced\u00a0<em>The Life of a Showgirl<\/em>\u00a0on Aug. 12, just eight months after wrapping her blockbuster Eras Tour. The surprise reveal came during an appearance on\u00a0<em>New Heights<\/em>\u00a0\u2014 the podcast hosted by her boyfriend Travis Kelce and his brother Jason Kelce \u2014 where she shared the album\u2019s title in a teaser clip posted to the show\u2019s social media accounts ahead of the full episode\u2019s release.<\/p>\n<p><em>The Life of a Showgirl<\/em>, Swift\u2019s 12th studio album, is set to arrive on Oct. 3 and will feature 12 new tracks produced by Max Martin and Shellback.<\/p>\n<p>Her previous album,\u00a0<em>The Tortured Poets Department<\/em>, dropped in April 2024 and debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 with the biggest opening week of her career.
