There was some speculation that James might request a trade from the Lakers. However, as the offseason has unfolded, that hasn\u2019t been the case. In fact, one of James\u2019 former teammates believes he still has five years left in the tank.<\/p>\n

The biggest concern surrounding a possible split between James and the Lakers came down to differing timelines. James wants to win now, and it\u2019s unclear if the Lakers are aligned with that goal.<\/p>\n

However, such a move would likely come at the cost of a fan favorite.<\/p>\n
