In a new ESPN docuseries called\u00a0The Kingdom,\u00a0Kansas City Chiefs\u00a0quarterback\u00a0Patrick Mahomes\u00a0revealed his initial skepticism about teammate\u00a0Travis Kelce\u2019s\u00a0budding romance with\u00a0Taylor Swift.<\/p>\n

In fact, Mahomes admitted he needed to \u201csee it to believe it\u201d when Kelce first told him during the week leading up to her debut appearance at Arrowhead Stadium in September 2023.<\/p>\n

Sheesh. Imagine having so little trust in your tight end that you\u2019d think he\u2019d make up a story like that one? To be fair, it was probably seen as a pretty wild claim at the time.<\/p>\n

\u201c[Kelce] told me during the week,\u201d the 3-time Super Bowl champion quarterback says in the series\u2019 third episode. \u201cI was one of those like, \u2018I got to see it, you know? I got to see it until I believe it.\u2019\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n

On the sidelines during a game, Mahomes chatted with Kelce about the surprise guest. Mahomes noted the overwhelming attention toward Swift\u2019s VIP box during the Chiefs\u2019 game against the\u00a0Chicago Bears.<\/p>\n

\u201cThat\u2019s the first person I noticed. I didn\u2019t see anybody else,\u201d Mahomes told his four-time first-team All-Pro tight end. \u201cYou definitely felt the buzz, and you could see people in the stadium gravitating toward where she was at there. But at the same time, we had business to handle.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n

Mahomes\u2019 Teammates Had a Surprising Reaction<\/h2>\n

While Patrick Mahomes was apparently briefed on the situation, other teammates\u2019 reactions to the Kelce-Swift romance show that it had the potential to be a massive distraction for the team.<\/p>\n

\u201cYou know the locker room was like, \u2018Taylor Swift\u2019s here. Taylor Swift\u2019s here. For real? With Travis? Oh my god,\u201d defensive tackle\u00a0Chris Jones\u00a0said, according to the\u00a0New York Post.<\/p>\n

They were seemingly shocked that Travis could get himself a date with the biggest pop superstar on the planet.\u00a0Again<\/em>\u00a0with the disrespect.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe\u2019re like, \u2018Oh my god, Travis pulled Taylor Swift,\u2019\u201d Jones added.<\/em><\/p>\n

Mahomes recently claimed he was also one of the first to know about Taylor Swift\u2019s new album titled\u00a0The Life of a Showgirl<\/em>, scheduled for release on October 3rd.\u00a0She revealed the news on her boyfriend\u2019s \u201cNew Heights\u201d podcast.<\/p>\n

But his quarterback was already in on the announcement.<\/p>\n
