The Mets remain in first place in the International League second half standings.<\/p>\n<p id=\"DODQSCFZABEULNPFX5LSFQXJU4\">After five scoreless innings between Syracuse and Rochester, the Mets broke open the scoring in the top of the sixth inning.<\/p>\n<p id=\"HMBJQDWFIBBLJMIM4EDLSMJBXY\">Jett Williams led off the frame with a triple, and Ryan Clifford ripped an RBI single into right field to put Syracuse ahead, 1-0.<\/p>\n<p id=\"LXCL4I2OIVF6PPGUG3I3XP23PY\">In the eighth, the Mets added some cushion to their lead. To begin the inning, Jared Young was hit by a pitch and Clifford drew a walk. With two men on, Jos\u00e9 Azocar knocked in Young with a single to right field and extended the lead, 2-0.<\/p>\n<p id=\"Q6TYFPAOBRH2NBEOPJCGA7Z6CQ\">Next, Yonny Hernandez was intentionally walked to load the bases. Luis De Los Santos drove in a pair with a two-run single, giving Syracuse a 4-0 lead.<\/p>\n<p id=\"T7IWMVQ2IBCC7HYULBTJCEWJKQ\">Then, with runners on the corners, Joey Meneses grounded into a double-play. Hernandez scored to make it a 5-0 ball game.<\/p>\n<p id=\"RJJGFSPVIJBTVISFYJLG552M6I\">In his first Triple-A start, Tong pitched 5.2 scoreless innings for the Mets. He allowed three hits and struck out nine batters.<\/p>\n<p id=\"D6INOO5TKRCHJKBVZO4HMFKPPM\">Out of the bullpen, Kevin Herget struck out all four batters he faced, and Dylan Ross finished the game with two clean innings and three strikeouts.<\/p>\n<p id=\"ZOJWEDJJBBBM3C5BRTYGUB4FDM\">Syracuse (62-57, 31-13) ends its six-game series with Rochester (46-70, 19-25) on Sunday afternoon.<\/p>\n<p id=\"2KKLLK3CLFE7VM6P5EOF6YFFUE\">Right-hander Justin Hagenman is scheduled to start for the Mets against right-hander Adrian Sampson for the Red Wings.
