In a teaser video, what appears to be an album sits on a shelf behind her. It\u2019s black with an orange outline. In front of it is an orange square with \u201cT.S.\u201d printed on it.<\/p>\n<p>Swift turns to\u00a0Travis Kelce\u00a0in a light blue sweater and says, \u201cSuch a nice color on you.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>He replies, \u201cYes I know, it\u2019s the color of your eyes, sweetie. A new album would be Swift\u2019s 12th.<\/p>\n<p>Swifties suspected the singer\u2019s next act was imminent after her in-house marketing account,\u00a0Taylor Nation, shared an Instagram post the morning of August 11: \u201cThinking about when she said \u2018See you next era\u2026\u2019 \u2764\ufe0f\u200d\ud83d\udd25.\u201d A photo carousel of 12 photos showcased her orange bodysuits and dresses from the\u00a0Eras Tour\u00a0and included one shot of her and\u00a0Sabrina Carpenter\u00a0from the\u00a0surprise set section in New Orleans.<\/p>\n<figure><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.usatoday.com\/gcdn\/authoring\/authoring-images\/2024\/05\/09\/PNAS\/73631784007-2151622649.jpg?crop=2152,1212,x0,y111&amp;width=660&amp;height=372&amp;format=pjpg&amp;auto=webp\" alt=\"Is Taylor Swift about to enter her 12th era? She's going to be a guest on 'New Heights' - BIC News\" \/><\/figure>\n<p>Shortly before the\u00a0Taylor Nation post, Travis Kelce\u2019s account and the \u201cNew Heights\u201d podcast page\u00a0shared a joint tease\u00a0to a \u201cVERY special guest\u201d on an upcoming episode. A silhouette that looked like Swift sent her fandom into a tailspin of excitement. The image background was glittery orange, the same texture seen on her website with her letter reclaiming her entire catalog.<\/p>\n<p>Coming full circle, the podcast is where Travis told his brother Jason he tried to give Swift a friendship bracelet with his phone number. \u201cThis all started when Travis very adorably put me on blast on his podcast, which I thought was metal as hell,\u201d she said during her Time Magazine Person of the Year article. The two dated in secret before she appeared in an NFL suite at a Kansas City Chiefs and Chicago Bears game in September 2023.<\/p>\n<h2>Kelce has become a conduit for Swift news<\/h2>\n<p>She changed her lyrics for Kelce at the close of\u00a0Eras Tour. Every time he was in the audience, she\u2019d switch up the tune to \u201cKarma is the guy on the Chiefs coming straight home to me.\u201d When she won video of the year at the\u00a0Video Music Awards, she thanked him in her speech.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWhen I\u2019d finish a take, and I\u2019d say cut, and we\u2019d be done with that take, I\u2019d always just hear someone like cheering and like \u2018whoo\u2019 from across the studio,\u201d she said in the speech. \u201cAnd that one person was my boyfriend Travis. She's going to be a guest on 'New Heights''\" \/><\/figure>\n<h2>\u2018The drought was the very worst\u2019<\/h2>\n<p>It\u2019s been 555 days since Swift\u2019s last album announcement,\u00a0\u201cThe Tortured Poets Department,\u201d\u00a0which she revealed at the 2024 Grammy awards.<\/p>\n<p>Swift has been laying low with music news\u00a0except for in May\u00a0when she announed she had purchased the master recordings of her first six albums.<\/p>\n<p>In an open letter, she hinted at a new era of sequins and rhinestones worthy of Elizabeth Taylor. The \u201cTS\u201d letterhead was framed by a diamond.
