After inking the ideal, Lamb set a new record as the second highest-paid non-quarterback player in NFL history\" data-nimg=\"fill\" \/><\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe reaction obviously was great,\u201d Dallas Cowboys coach Mike McCarthy said during a conference call leading up to securing the deal with Lamb. \u201cEverybody in the office was fired up.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The exciting news comes after Lamb\u2019s strike. Lamb stopped showing up for practices and workouts a day after Jefferson finalized his $140 million deal with the Minnesota Vikings, according to\u00a0NFL.com. McCarthy is confident in Lamb\u2019s ability, saying he\u2019s focused on fine-tuning.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe overall conditioning I don\u2019t think\u2019s going to be a concern,\u201d McCarthy explained. \u201cIt\u2019s\u00a0really\u00a0just more the connection and the little things, the details. He needs body-on-body, contested catches,\u00a0have\u00a0his contact balance tested\u00a0and all those types of things. You\u00a0really\u00a0only get that playing football.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cLast year\u2019s numbers, that\u2019s a high bar. I think the biggest thing, he\u2019s capable of it,\u201d McCarthy added about a possibly fourth trip to the playoffs. \u201cWe definitely want to be in the position at the end of this regular season where everybody\u2019s playing their best football.
