The\u00a0Kansas City Chiefs\u00a0missed out on a historic\u00a0Super Bowl\u00a0three-peat last season, losing to the\u00a0Philadelphia Eagles\u00a0in the big game, 40-22.<\/p>\n
Patrick Mahomes\u00a0and company finished the campaign with a 15-2 record, the best in the AFC and tied with the\u00a0Detroit Lions\u00a0for the best in the\u00a0NFL. Still, failing to win the chip when they got so close certainly stings.<\/p>\n
Now, as they head into the 2025 season, the team is clearly more motivated than ever to bounce back.<\/p>\n
As the Chiefs prepare for the first preseason game against the\u00a0Arizona Cardinals\u00a0on Sunday, they posted a video of team owner Clark Hunt reminding them of what they need to do.<\/p>\n
Hunt\u2019s message came along with a clip showing the Chiefs walking out of the Superdome as\u00a0the Eagles\u00a0were being crowned Super Bowl LIX champions.<\/p>\n
\u201cFor those of you who were with us last year, I know it didn\u2019t end like we wanted it to,\u201d Hunt started. \u201cAnd we all have a little bit of a bitter taste in our mouth.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n Hunt, who serves as the chairman and CEO of the franchise, expressed confidence that the Chiefs are more than capable of bouncing back. After all, they have what he described as \u201cone of the best coaching staffs in the history of the National Football League.\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cIt isn\u2019t going to be easy,\u201d Hunt clarified.\u00a0\u201cIn terms of what you guys need to focus on is taking it day by day.\u00a0Going out there and giving your best each day, each drill.\u00a0Let\u2019s get it done.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n
