The saga continues around the Kansas City Chiefs and the possibility of move away from their iconic Arrowhead Stadium in Missouri.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The home of the latest\u00a0NFL\u00a0dynasty has been recorded as the\u00a0loudest outdoor stadium in the world, and has hosted many iconic matchups since their move there in 1972.<\/p>\n

But having stood tall for over 50 years, Arrowhead is now in some need of major renovations to bring it into line with some of the billion-dollar arenas that dominant the league.<\/p>\n

The stadium has provided a\u00a0major home advantage\u00a0that\u00a0Chiefs\u00a0head coach\u00a0Andy Reid,\u00a0Patrick Mahomes\u00a0and\u00a0Travis Kelce\u00a0have sung the praises of and has played a huge part in their three\u00a0Super Bowls\u00a0over the last six seasons.<\/p>\n

Amid the renovation talks is the proposal that the Chiefs move the franchise\u00a0across state lines\u00a0into Kansas City, Missouri, where there are plans for a\u00a0$3 billion brand new state-of-the-art\u00a0dome.<\/p>\n

However, in a recent development, the Chiefs\u2019 mind may well be made up for them.<\/p>\n

A lawsuit has been filed<\/strong><\/h2>\n

According to KCTV,\u00a0a lawsuit has been filed\u00a0regarding the state of Missouri\u2019s funding plan to renovate Arrowhead, with two state legislators, State Senator Michael Moon, and State Rep Bryant Wolfin, and one private resident from Maries County who filed the lawsuit arguing that the law is unconstitutional.<\/p>\n

Their argument for this bill being unconstitutional is because it grants public money to private persons, has multiple subjects, and has changed from its original purpose.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe appropriations described in the bill are a direct gift or bribe to the owners of the Chiefs and the Royals to stay in Missouri,\u201d\u00a0the lawsuit alleges.<\/p>\n

Wolfin told KCTV: \u201cWe are saying that the Chiefs and\u00a0[Kansas City] Royals, and technically the Cardinals, are certainly the only ones that can benefit from this, whereas the MLS teams, the Battlehawks, and the Blues, as I said, get nothing, so there is some frustration there.\u201d<\/p>\n

The current proposal assigns $1 billion in state subsidies would be available to the sports teams over the next three decades, but this is something the lawsuit takes a monumental issue with.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe Attorney General is constitutionally obligated to defend the laws enacted by the people of Missouri through their elected representatives,\u201d a spokesperson for Missouri attorney general Andrew Bailey said,\u00a0via NBC Sports. \u201cOur office is currently reviewing the lawsuit.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/article>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
