<\/p>\nLos Angeles Dodgers manager Dave Roberts provided an unfortunate update on Tommy Edman, who left in the fifth inning of Sunday\u2019s series finale at Steinbrenner Field with an ankle injury.<\/p>\n

The Dodgers later announced Edman suffered a right ankle sprain while he was rounding first base.<\/p>\n
Roberts provided the latest update on the utility man following the Dodgers\u2019 3-0 win over the Tampa Bay Rays.<\/p>\n
\u201cIt\u2019s a recurrence of what he\u2019s been dealing with,\u201d Roberts said. \u201cI think once he hit the bag\u2026I just don\u2019t see how it\u2019s not an IL. We\u2019re obviously gonna get Muncy back, so that\u2019ll probably be the move.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n Roberts believes Edman will spend more than two weeks sidelined by the ankle ailment. The 30-year-old also spoke about the recurring injury, and revealed how frustrating the injury has been for him this season.<\/p>\n \u201cIt felt a little bit worse than what I felt in Boston last week, just stepped on the base weird,\u201d Edman said. \u201cI think it\u2019s too early to tell, we\u2019ll figure that out once we look at the images. It\u2019s a bummer, I\u2019m trying to play the game hard but it\u2019s tough to do that when I feel like I don\u2019t have the stability there that I need. I\u2019ve been doing rehab stuff every single day, treatment stuff after the game.
