JOSEPH, Mo. (WIBW) &#8211; Behind a mix of pedigree and preparation, Kansas City Chiefs\u2019 rookie offensive lineman Josh Simmons seems to be on track to start week one.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHe\u2019s done a nice job on what we\u2019ve asked from him,\u201d Chiefs head coach Andy Reid said on Friday. \u201cHe\u2019s working on all the fundamentals and techniques.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Simmons was taken with the 32nd-overall pick of the 2025 NFL Draft back in April. The Ohio State product tore his ACL during a game against Oregon in October, but told reporters he\u2019s felt issue-free during training camp.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAs we speak I haven\u2019t felt any issues with it yet,\u201d Simmons said. \u201cPlaying football, it\u2019s just therapy. I\u2019m glad to be back.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Simmons said teammates Trey Smith and Jalon Moore have been especially helpful in getting him acclimated to his first go-around in the NFL.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThey\u2019ve seen it all, they\u2019ve made the rookie mistakes, so they\u2019re trying to help me so I don\u2019t make them, or so that I\u2019m ready for those welcome to the NFL moments,\u201d Simmons said. \u201cAsking them the questions, even if it\u2019s something that I already know just to confirm&#8230;just getting that imprinted into my brain so that I\u2019m ready to play as hard as I can when I get out there.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Reid won\u2019t name a starter until the season draws closer.
