<\/p>\nManchester United are expected to move for a striker in the final weeks of the transfer window after snapping up Wolves star Matheus Cunha and Brentford talisman Bryan Mbeumo. A centre-forward would complete an overhaul of the front three at Old Trafford, but who that man will be is yet to be discovered.<\/p>\n
Ruben Amorim has famously favoured a 3-4-3 setup during his time as United boss, and that looks like it will continue into the 2025-26 campaign. Mbeumo and Cunha are expected to operate from the right and left number 10 positions, respectively.<\/p>\n
However, as things stand, they will either be flanking Rasmus Hojlund or Joshua Zirkzee, unless a deal can be done for a striker to move to Old Trafford. Liam Delap, Hugo Ekitike and Viktor Gyokeres were all linked with a move to the English giants before opting for alternative clubs.<\/p>\n

Reports have emerged that the Red Devils are keen on adding RB Leipzig forward Benjamin Sesko, with the 22-year-old assessing his options between the Manchester-based club and Newcastle United. However, the Slovenian star isn\u2019t the man Mbeumo praised in his first full interview as a United player.<\/p>\n
Sitting down with club legend Rio Ferdinand, the Cameroon international instead waxed lyrical about an alternative option that has been touted to lead the line for Amorim\u2019s side next season. Aston Villa striker Ollie Watkins has been another name strongly linked with the club, and Mbeumo was full of praise for his ex-teammate, saying:<\/p>\n
\u201c[Watkins] is like a complete striker who can do a lot of things.<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n \u201cHe can drop\u2026 or go in behind and I think he just is really good for me or for a winger because you can use his space to fit in there. He can combine as well, so yeah, he\u2019s really good.\u201d<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n The pair played together at Brentford in the 2019-20 season before Watkins departed for Villa Park and Mbeumo began his ascent to being the west London club\u2019s star player. They could still link up once again at Old Trafford if the Sesko move fails to materialise.<\/p>\n Waktins is 29 years old and therefore past the age most Premier League clubs aim for when signing big-money stars.
