Jonathan Kuminga may not get what he wants from the Golden State Warriors, but where does that leave him?<\/p>\n

According to Marc Stein, via Fullcourtpass, the Warriors have made an offer to Kuminga for a new contract, but it\u2019s not the kind that the star player desired.<\/p>\n

Apparently, the Warriors\u2019 best offer to Kuminga has \u201ctopped out\u201d at two years and $40 million.<\/p>\n

Warriors fans remember that Kuminga wants something closer to three years at $30 million per season, so this is far from what he hoped for.<\/p>\n

Because of this offer, Kuminga and his management are in a tough spot.<\/p>\n

They can either accept this deal or try to make a new one, preferably a sign-and-trade that would ship him off to another team.<\/p>\n

The Sacramento Kings have been looking at Kuminga, but it sounds like the Warriors are hesitant to work with them because Golden State wants a first-round pick and young talent, and they aren\u2019t willing to accept bad contracts on top of that.<\/p>\n

However, the Warriors cannot drag their heels with the Kuminga situation because it has brought their front office to a screeching halt.<\/p>\n

They have been trying to sign other talent, such as Al Horford and De\u2019Anthony Melton, but the complications with Kuminga have slowed that down.<\/p>\n

In other words, they cannot move forward until they know what is going on with Kuminga.<\/p>\n

Perhaps Kuminga is able to sweeten the pot just a little bit, getting a new contract with Golden State that isn\u2019t ideal but good enough for now.<\/p>\n

Or maybe he can convince the team to create the sign-and-trade that sends him to Sacramento.<\/p>\n

But, right now, things feel stuck, and they have been for some time.<\/p>\n
