Bryan Mbeumo has now officially completed a move to Manchester United, and the forward has explained why he chose the Red Devils over the likes of Tottenham Hotspur.<\/strong><\/p>\n

It has been widely reported that\u00a0Bryan Mbeumo\u2019s number one choice was to join Man United, which is why\u00a0Tottenham were forced to admit defeat in their pursuit of the 25-year-old.<\/p>\n

In fact, it was even claimed last month that Mbeumo had personally told Thomas Frank that he only wanted to join Man United.<\/p>\n

Following that snub, Tottenham quickly wrapped up a \u00a355m deal for Mohammed Kudus, who was arguably the club\u2019s most impressive player in their first pre-season friendly of the summer against Reading on Saturday.<\/p>\n

Bryan Mbeumo explains why he only wanted Man United<\/h2>\n

The Cameroon international\u2019s decision to choose Man United over Spurs may have left many surprised, given that the Lilywhites are in the Champions League and offered him an opportunity to reunite with Frank.<\/p>\n

However, Mbeumo has now explained that he supported the Red Devils growing up and his mind was made up about a move to Old Trafford as soon as Rubem Amorim\u2019s men made an approach.<\/p>\n

Mbeumo told Man United\u2019s official website: \u201cAs soon as I knew there was a chance to join Manchester United, I had to take the opportunity to sign for the club of my dreams; the team whose shirt I wore growing up,\u2019<\/p>\n

\u201cMy mentality is to always be better than I was yesterday. I know that I have the spirit and character to reach another level here, learning from Ruben Amorim and playing alongside world-class players.<\/p>\n

\u201cEverybody told me about the environment that is being created here and how exciting the plans are for the future. This is a massive club, with an incredible stadium and amazing fans, we are all really determined to challenge for the biggest trophies.\u201d<\/p>\n

Thomas Frank wishes Mbemo the best at Old Trafford<\/h2>\n

Reports over the summer indicated that Frank had identified Mbeumo as his number one target, and Daniel Levy pulled out all the stops to hijack the deal for the forward.<\/p>\n

However, the Dane was magnanimous about missing out on the forward and wished his former player luck at Man United.<\/p>\n

Frank said a few days ago about Mbeumo\u2019s switch to Old Trafford (via The Metro): \u201cBryan, of course, is a fantastic player. I have been with him for five years.<\/p>\n

\u201cI think he deserved the move, no matter where he goes. As a player, I wish him all the best when you\u2019ve been with a player for so long.\u201d<\/p>\n
