<\/p>\nLos Angeles Dodgers superstar first baseman Freddie Freeman left Sunday\u2019s loss to the Milwaukee Brewers early after being hit by an 88 mph sinker from southpaw Jose Quintana.<\/p>\n

Freeman didn\u2019t appear to be in pain after being hit. Instead, he walked straight into the dugout and down to the clubhouse. The Dodgers announced that Freeman was diagnosed with a left wrist contusion.<\/p>\n
Manager Dave Roberts spoke on Freeman and provided an update after the game.<\/p>\n
The skipper said that X-rays were negative and said Freeman will be \u201cday to day.\u201d<\/p>\n Dave Roberts said x-rays were negative on Freddie Freeman. \u201cDay to day category,\u201d Roberts said.<\/p>\n \u2014 Fabian Ardaya (@FabianArdaya) July 20, 2025<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<\/div>\n<\/figure>\n \u201cTo lose him would have been really tough to overcome,\u201d Roberts added, \u201cbut we dodged a bullet there.\u201d<\/p>\n The skipper also touched on what Freeman calmly said to him after being hit by the pitch.<\/p>\n \u201cHe just said, \u2018Hit my wrist, and I\u2019m gonna go get it checked.\u2019\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n Freeman has had a frustrating injury history dating back to the second half of last season, including a hairline fracture in his middle finger in August, a sprained ankle days before the postseason started, and broken rib cartilage that he had to fight through on the way to an unbelievable road to becoming the 2024 World Series MVP.<\/p>\n A buildup of scar tissue in Freeman\u2019s rib kept him out of the Tokyo Series to kick off the 2025 regular season, and he tweaked his surgically-repaired ankle in late March, which resulted in him missing 10 games.<\/p>\n The promising update from Roberts and a \u201cdodged bullet\u201d with Freeman\u2019s prognosis gives fans far more hope than the uncertainty felt upon his exit.<\/p>\n If Freeman is forced to miss any time, Roberts said Dalton Rushing would start at first base.<\/p>\n Photo Credit: Darren Yamashita-Imagn Images<\/em><\/p>\n Have you joined our\u00a0<\/em>Discord Channel\u00a0yet?
