Despite coming up short in the Super Bowl against the Philadelphia Eagles, tight end Travis Kelce has a reputation for being one of the NFL\u2019s fiercest\u00a0competitors:<\/p>\n

Kelce\u2019s numbers are finally beginning to dwindle, coming off a postseason that included his lowest total targets, catches, yards and touchdowns since 2018 as one of\u00a0Patrick Mahomes\u2019 preferred options. Chiefs general manager Brett Veach knows the 35-year-old future Hall of Famer is playing out the stretch, but states there are a few highlights left.<\/em><\/p>\n

\u201cWe\u2019ve all seen it over the last few years,\u201d\u00a0Veach told ESPN. \u201cThere are periods throughout the season where you\u2019re like, \u2018This might be it.\u2019 But when the games are the most important and the lights are the brightest, he finds it somewhere.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n

The 10-time Pro Bowler said\u00a0he wants 2025 to be a rebound<\/span>, part of the reason why he chose to return.<\/em><\/p>\n

Kelce\u2019s 823 yards receiving were a career-low for a full season.<\/p>\n

\u201cI really didn\u2019t feel like it was my last game. Just felt like I\u2019ve got a lot more to prove,\u201d Kelce said, noting the loss to the Philadelphia Eagles. It wasn\u2019t a very tough (decision) for me. I know I\u2019m getting older, but at the same time, I still feel like I got a lot that I can prove in this league. It really wasn\u2019t that hard of a decision for me.\u201d<\/em><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Kelce skipped OTAs this offseason, but suited up for mandatory minicamp. And according to Mahomes,\u00a0Kelce hasn\u2019t acted like this is his \u201clast ride\u201d with the Chiefs<\/span>.<\/em><\/p>\n

\u201cThe way he\u2019s talking about football, the way he\u2019s talking about working and trying to be even better this year than he was last year,\u201d\u00a0Mahomes said in May. \u201cHe doesn\u2019t seem like a guy that, it\u2019s his last ride or he\u2019s tired of the job. He\u2019s in here, he\u2019s working. I know his body feels good. I think it feels better than even last year before going into last season.<\/em><\/p>\n

\u201cI think he\u2019s motivated to go out there and have an even better year.\u201d<\/em><\/p><\/blockquote>\n
