Bobby Stroupe \u2014 who has been training Kansas City Chiefs\u2019 quarterback Patrick Mahomes since he was a young boy \u2014 has found himself defending his most famous client in recent days.<\/p>\n
First, Stroupe took on former Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger, who used a recent episode of his \u201cFootbahlin\u2019\u201d podcast to become the latest to claim Mahomes\u2019 career has passed its peak.<\/p>\n
\u201cI think Aaron Rodgers in his prime was one of the top few to ever do it \u2014 and so is Patrick Mahomes at his prime,\u201d said Roethlisberger. \u201cPatrick Mahomes is just entering out-of-his-prime, I think.\u201d<\/p>\n
In a since-deleted post on X, Stroupe took exception to that.<\/p>\n
\u201cNot everybody quits working out at 30 years old, Ben,\u201d he retorted.<\/p>\n
Then Stroupe went after Kansas City media personality Kevin Ketizman, who had gone well beyond the \u201cdad bod\u201d comments that have recently been made about the soon-to-be-30 two-time NFL MVP.<\/p>\n
\u201cVacation photos are popping up of Patrick Mahomes, and he\u2019s fat,\u201d claimed Kietzman. \u201cI\u2019m gonna say it \u2014 and I\u2019m gonna tell you the truth: He\u2019s an embarrassment.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n But for Keitzman, that wasn\u2019t going quite far enough.<\/p>\n \u201cYou\u2019re a $500 million quarterback,\u201d he add. \u201cYou\u2019ve made all these comments in the offseason that, \u2018We\u2019re gonna do our talking on the field, we got our butts kicked in the Super Bowl, we\u2019re coming back with a vengeance\u2019… Dude, you\u2019re fat. Your belly would be fat at my pool, hanging out with us 60-year-olds. Stop. Stop the fast food. Do a sit-up. Do something.\u201d<\/p>\n For Stroupe, that was a bridge too far.<\/p>\n \u201cSend me your location,\u201d he replied angrily in another deleted X post.<\/p>\n \u201cYou obviously need attention. If you want to see what \u2018in shape is,\u2019 go make it through a [training camp] practice at Saint Joseph or run [a] hurry-up offense [while] scrambling back-to-back-to-back plays.<\/p>\n \u201cYou don\u2019t have a clue what it takes. It\u2019s not a look. It\u2019s performance.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n Mahomes was not yet… uhhh… weighed in on this dispute. But knowing Mahomes, he will respond in his typical way: with performance.
