{"id":76425,"date":"2025-07-06T00:41:33","date_gmt":"2025-07-06T00:41:33","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/new365.azontree.com\/?p=76425"},"modified":"2025-07-06T00:41:33","modified_gmt":"2025-07-06T00:41:33","slug":"breaking-chiefs-qb-patrick-mahomes-gets-historic-honor","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/new365.azontree.com\/?p=76425","title":{"rendered":"Breaking: Chiefs QB Patrick Mahomes Gets Historic Honor"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/heavy.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/07\/GettyImages-2198012235-1.jpg?quality=65&amp;strip=all&amp;w=780\" alt=\"Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes\" \/><\/p>\n<p>The Kansas City Chiefs have one of the greatest quarterbacks in the NFL right now in Patrick Mahomes, but how does he stack up to the greatest quarterbacks in the entire history of the league?<\/p>\n<p>That\u2019s a great question, and boy, would it be fun to see Mahomes and Tom Brady go up against each other, although Mahomes is certainly in a different generation than Brady.<\/p>\n<p>It\u2019s a holiday weekend, and that means that the folks who cover the NFL and sports, including myself, get to go off and do some random stories.<\/p>\n<p>Bryan DeArdo of CBS Sports took the time to publish a piece on Thursday, July 3, ranking the best quarterbacks in the NFL of all time.<\/p>\n<p><em>Of course, Brady is No. 1. \u201cIt\u2019s hard to find anyone who would argue Brady\u2019s standing as the greatest quarterback of all-time,\u201d\u00a0<span class=\"ArticleAuthor-nameText\">DeArdo said<\/span>. \u201cBrady owns just about every significant NFL passing record, including the career marks for passing yards and touchdown passes.\u201d So, where does Mahomes fit in? Let\u2019s find out.<\/em><\/p>\n<div id=\"7af41fd412f2c412eea5ee006caf0476\" class=\"embed_container\">\n<div class=\"lazy-embed lazy-embed--ssr embed-instagram-com lazy-embed--loaded\" data-url=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/p\/DLKjQZuMWvB\/\"><iframe id=\"instagram-embed-0\" class=\"instagram-media instagram-media-rendered\" src=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/reel\/DLKjQZuMWvB\/embed\/captioned\/?cr=1&amp;v=14&amp;wp=656&amp;rd=https%3A%2F%2Fheavy.com&amp;rp=%2Fsports%2Fnfl%2Fkansas-city-chiefs%2Fchiefs-qb-patrick-mahomes-gets-historic%2F#%7B%22ci%22%3A0%2C%22os%22%3A17518%7D\" height=\"1114\" frameborder=\"0\" scrolling=\"no\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\" data-instgrm-payload-id=\"instagram-media-payload-0\" data-mce-fragment=\"1\"><\/iframe><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<hr \/>\n<h2>Chiefs\u2019 Patrick Mahomes Among the Best QBs Ever<\/h2>\n<p>DeArdo has Joe Montana as the No. 2 best quarterback of all time, which makes sense, because he\u2019s obviously one of the pillars of the sport. \u201cConsidered the greatest QB of all-time pre Brady, Montana still has the unofficial title as the best QB of the 20th century,\u201d DeArdo notes. \u201cMontana\u2019s \u2018Joe Cool\u2019 nickname was well earned as he led the 49ers on two of his most famous game-winning drives in NFL history.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>He goes through a few more names to\u00a0get to Mahomes. He names Mahomes the No. 7 best quarterback to ever play in the NFL,\u00a0noting his early legacy.<\/p>\n<p><em>\u201cOne of just two active players on this list,\u00a0Mahomes is more than deserving\u00a0of his top-10 position,\u201d\u00a0DeArdo notes. \u201cThe 29-year-old is already a two-time league and three-time Super Bowl MVP. He has an astonishing 106-27 record as the Chiefs\u2019 starting quarterback that includes a 17-4 postseason mark. For example, even Russell Wilson, who won a Super Bowl and is currently playing, doesn\u2019t make the tally.<\/p>\n<h2>Patrick Mahomes on Andy Reid<\/h2>\n<p>Mahomes recently chatted with T-Mobile CEO Mike Sievert on Sidekicks Conversations and praised Chiefs head coach Andy Reid, which he should.<\/p>\n<p><em>\u201cIt starts with Coach Reid,\u201d\u00a0Mahomes said. \u201cIt starts with the organization that we\u2019re in, and he has a standard that every single day you\u2019re coming there to get better or get worse.
