Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce is coming to the end of his illustrious career as he enters Year 13, and some think that 2025 will be his last in the NFL.<\/p>\n

There was a thought that the Chiefs’ tight end would walk away had he won the Super Bowl against the Philadelphia Eagles, that Kelce would be riding off into the sunset with Taylor Swift.<\/p>\n

But alas, the future Hall of Famer is back.<\/p>\n

For how long? We aren’t sure.<\/p>\n

But CBS Sports thinks that regardless of how the 2025 season shakes out, No. 87 won’t be coming back in 2026.<\/p>\n

“Kelce seemed to seriously consider walking away after last season in the aftermath of Kansas City’s loss to the Philadelphia Eagles in Super Bowl LIX,” CBS Sports writes. “Had that game gone in a different direction and the Chiefs pulled off the historic three-peat, it’s conceivable (if not likely) that Kelce would have opted to ride off into the sunset as a champion. Instead, Kelce decided to come back for what will be the 35-year-old’s 13th season in the league.<\/p>\n

“Even without a championship in 2025, it feels entirely possible this is it for the all-time tight end.”<\/em><\/p>\n

Is that fair? We think so.<\/p>\n

Is that what fans are wondering about? We know so.<\/p>\n

With the 35-year-old slowing down last season, to be able to get the most out of his body for another full season and potentially a playoff run, it is going to take something substantial.<\/p>\n

The Chiefs might look to deviate from Travis being the go-to guy on offense in preparation for his looming retirement, and there are a host of options who could take up that mantle.<\/p>\n

But the 2025 season is feeling like it will be Kelce’s swansong in the NFL.<\/p>\n
