Fans know that this happened quietly several years ago. After tying the knot in February 1988, Andrea and Scott Swift were married for 23 years before going their separate ways in 2011.<\/p>\n

They somehow managed to keep their split under wraps\u00a0while daughter, Taylor Swift, embarked on\u00a0The Speak Now World Tour\u00a0that same year.<\/p>\n

So, how are Taylor Swift\u2019s parents today, a decade after their separation?<\/p>\n

How Andrea & Scott Swift\u2019s Marriage Began<\/h2>\n

Long before they became parents to one of\u00a0this generation\u2019s biggest singer-songwriters, a couple named Andrea Finlay and Scott Swift got married in Houston, Texas.<\/p>\n

At the time,\u00a0Andrea was a marketing executive\u00a0while Scott was a financial advisor.<\/p>\n

Just before celebrating two years of marriage the couple welcomed their first child, Taylor Allison Swift, on December 13, 1989. A little over two years later they would welcome her brother, Austin Kingsley Swift, on March 11, 1992.<\/p>\n

The pair raised Taylor and her brother, Austin, on a Christmas Tree Farm in Reading, Pennsylvania.<\/p>\n

Andrea & Scott Swift Kept Their Separation On The Low<\/h2>\n

When it came time for Taylor Swift\u2019s parents to separate, they managed to do so without making any headlines. And there\u2019s no indication that the estranged couple ever legally got divorced.<\/p>\n

Andrea and Scott Swift were first separated in 2011, though an exact date is unknown. Their marriage ultimately ended (emotionally, if not legally) due to \u201cdifficulties\u201d in the relationship, as reported by\u00a0MSN.<\/p>\n

Those alleged \u201cdifficulties\u201d haven\u2019t been confirmed by anyone in the immediate Swift family. A source close to the family claimed Andrea Swift being\u00a0on the road with Taylor on tour\u00a0strained the relationship.<\/p>\n

Taylor Swift\u2019s Parents Separation May Have Inspired Songs<\/h2>\n

It\u2019s no secret that Taylor Swift\u2019s real life is often the inspiration when she\u2019s writing songs. She\u2019s also written several songs about her parents, most notably \u201cBest Day\u201d for her mom, Andrea Swift, which was featured on 2008\u2019s \u201cFearless\u201d album.<\/p>\n

Fans have speculated that some of Taylor\u2019s songs are inspired by Andrea and Scott Swift\u2019s marriage fizzling out.\u00a0Redditors believe the lyrics to \u201cMine\u201d\u00a0off of 2010\u2019s \u201cSpeak Now\u201d could be about Taylor Swift\u2019s parents\u2019 separation.<\/p>\n

For example, \u201cMine\u201d includes: \u201cYou say we\u2019ll never make my parents\u2019 mistakes\u201d as well as the line, \u201cYou fell in love with a careless man\u2019s careful daughter.\u201d<\/p>\n

Fans also find\u00a0lyrics for \u201cSad Beautiful Tragic\u201d\u00a0could easily be about the trouble in Andrea and Scott\u2019s marriage. The track is on Taylor\u2019s \u201cRed\u201d album, released one year after her parents reportedly separated.<\/p>\n

After their 23-year marriage ended, Andrea and Scott Swift remained unwavering in\u00a0support of their billionaire daughter. Both Andrea and Scott are often seen attending The Eras World Tour together.<\/p>\n

In fact, Taylor Swift\u2019s parents are very much celebrities in their own right to the Swiftie community.<\/p>\n

Scott Swift is known to always have\u00a0a pocketful of Taylor Swift guitar picks\u00a0he gives out to fans in the crowd. He\u2019s even been\u00a0spotted handing out snacks\u00a0in the past!<\/p>\n

Taylor Swift & Travis Kelce Have Complex Family Lives In Common<\/h2>\n

There are\u00a0three things Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce\u00a0have in common. They are both super famous, they are both really good-looking, and they both have parents who are no longer together.<\/p>\n

Donna and Ed Kelce were married almost 25 years before getting divorced. Similar to Andrea and Scott Swift, the Kelce parents have remained good friends since their romance ended.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe\u2019re friends to this day. We get along great,\u201d Donna shared during an appearance on\u00a0Travis and brother Jason Kelce\u2019s podcast, \u201cNew Heights.\u201d<\/p>\n
