{"id":72628,"date":"2025-06-24T07:33:36","date_gmt":"2025-06-24T07:33:36","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/new365.azontree.com\/?p=72628"},"modified":"2025-06-24T07:34:03","modified_gmt":"2025-06-24T07:34:03","slug":"sun%d1%95-in%d1%95%d1%96der-take%d1%95-jab-at-heat-after-fa%d1%96led-kev%d1%96n-durant-trade-talk%d1%95","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/new365.azontree.com\/?p=72628","title":{"rendered":"Sun\u0455 In\u0455\u0456der Take\u0455 Jab at Heat After Fa\u0456led Kev\u0456n Durant Trade Talk\u0455"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/athlonsports.com\/.image\/t_share\/MjE0MzAzNDUyMzU5MDQyMDcx\/usatsi_25963637.jpg\" alt=\"Miami Heat center Kel'el Ware (7)\" \/><\/p>\n<p>The\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/athlonsports.com\/nba\/phoenix-suns\/\">Phoenix Suns<\/a>\u00a0kicked off their offseason in a major way as they agreed to trade\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/athlonsports.com\/nba\/player\/kevin-durant\">Kevin Durant<\/a>\u00a0to the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/athlonsports.com\/nba\/houston-rockets\/\">Houston Rockets<\/a>\u00a0on Sunday.<\/p>\n<p>According to ESPN\u2019s Shams Charania, the Suns agreed to send Durant to the Rockets for Jalen Green,\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/athlonsports.com\/nba\/player\/dillon-brooks\">Dillon Brooks<\/a>, the No. 10 pick in the 2025\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/athlonsports.com\/nba\">NBA<\/a>\u00a0Draft and five second-round picks.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"550\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">BREAKING: The Phoenix Suns are trading two-time NBA Finals MVP Kevin Durant to the Houston Rockets for Jalen Green, Dillon Brooks, the No. 10 pick in the 2025 draft and five second-round picks, sources tell ESPN. <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/EwrbA2ES9O\">pic.twitter.com\/EwrbA2ES9O<\/a><\/p>\n<p>&mdash; Shams Charania (@ShamsCharania) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/ShamsCharania\/status\/1936826228108931393?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">June 22, 2025<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><script async src=\"https:\/\/platform.twitter.com\/widgets.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>This was a massive move by the Suns after weeks of holding talks with other teams about a potential Durant trade and they eventually settled on the Rockets\u2019 offer.<\/p>\n<p>While Houston ultimately won the Durant sweepstakes, there were other teams in discussions with Phoenix to land the future Hall of Fame forward, including the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/athlonsports.com\/nba\/miami-heat\/\">Miami Heat<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Despite the Heat being named one of Durant\u2019s preferred destinations, they were unable to work out a deal for the superstar forward for a couple of key reasons.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/athlonsports.com\/.image\/t_share\/MjEzNDU5Nzg2Mjk1OTQ0NjU1\/kevin-durant.jpg\" alt=\"Kevin Durant\" \/><\/p>\n<p>According to Suns insider John Gambadoro, the Heat made Nikola Jovic and Kel\u2019el Ware untouchable in trade talks for Durant and they also offered the Suns only one first-round pick.<\/p>\n<p>In his report, Gambadoro also took a shot at the Heat due to their trade offer for Durant.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cMiami was never really serious.
