\"TinFor the past few years, the\u00a0NBA<\/a>\u00a0Greatest of All Time (GOAT) debate has been centered around two players: former\u00a0Chicago Bulls<\/a>\u00a0guard Michael Jordan and\u00a0Los Angeles Lakers<\/a>\u00a0forward\u00a0LeBron James<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Fans compare and contrast the perennial All-Stars’ accolades, championships and impact on the sport to determine their best player. James’ former\u00a0Cleveland Cavaliers<\/a>\u00a0teammate, Iman Shumpert, gave his answer to both sides of the debate.<\/p>\n

\u201cWhen you talk about accolades, I get it, but to catch Jordan\u2019s record and take a few years off, but I can\u2019t put anybody past Michael Jordan,\u201d Shumpert\u00a0said during<\/a>\u00a0a recent episode of the \u201cDan Patrick Show.\u201d<\/p>\n

Many consider Jordan the greatest because of his 6-0 record in the NBA Finals and impressive postseason success against all-time greats such as Magic Johnson, Karl Malone, Charles Barkley and John Stockton. Furthermore, Shumpert\u2019s statement could only intensify the strong argument that Jordan is the NBA\u2019s greatest player.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019m more ranking on winning than age,\u201d Shumpert added. \u201cJordan will always be my GOAT, but I totally understand the argument, and I think it\u2019s even more special because I got to play with LeBron and be a part of that conversation.\u201d<\/p>\n

However, before coming to this distinction, he said he thinks James is one of the best to do it, even though he doesn\u2019t consider him his best player. The former player noted that he thinks James is a great player because he excels on the court.<\/p>\n

Shumpert added that James can do it all, from shooting 3-pointers well to driving to the basket and throwing down slam dunks.<\/p>\n
