Some have their reservations about the kind of impact 35-year-old tight end Travis Kelce can have for the Kansas City Chiefs in 2025.<\/p>\n

The 10-time Pro Bowler is coming off the worst season of his career, in which he logged a career-low 823 yards and three touchdown catches, and there\u2019s some serious questions about how much he has left in the tank after he recorded just two 100-yard games last season, one of which came in the playoffs.<\/p>\n

I mean, you have to acknowledge a certain aspect of that, right? I don\u2019t know if I look at it in terms of, like, expectations for yardage or touchdowns or catches. I think that when he\u2019s on the field now, he makes us better. And I think that he\u2019s also a guy that makes the people around him better.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce (87) leaves the field after warm ups before Super Bowl LVII against the Philadelphia Eagles at State Farm Stadium.<\/p>\n And while Kelce and the rest of those in the Chiefs building may be convinced he can still be a difference-maker, one NFL analyst isn\u2019t convinced.<\/p>\n Pete Prisco of CBS Sports recently ranked his top 100 NFL players heading into 2025, and he had Kelce just barely making the cut, taking the No. 96 spot.<\/p>\n For comparison, Prisco had Kelce ranked 78 spots higher (No. 18) in his rankings last year.<\/p>\n \u201cAge started to look like it was impacting Kelce’s play last season as he didn’t look to be the same player,\u201d Prisco wrote. \u201cThere were moments, but the consistency wasn’t there. He had 97 catches, but he averaged just 8.5 per catch, the lowest of his career, which is not a good sign for a 35-year-old.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n Per Prisco\u2019s rankings, Kelce is still a top-five tight end, but he\u2019s lost some serious ground to the next generation of top, young pass-catchers.<\/p>\n Prisco has four other TEs ahead of Kelce \u2014 Vegas\u2019 Brock Bowers (No. 22), San Francisco\u2019s George Kittle (No. 25), Arizona\u2019s Trey McBride (No. 42), and Detroit\u2019s Sam LaPorta (No. 86).<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":" Some have their reservations about the kind of impact 35-year-old tight end Travis Kelce can have for the Kansas City Chiefs in 2025.
