Liverpool have been told it would take an offer of \u00a375-80million to sign Anthony Gordon this summer amid renewed interest in his services.<\/p>\n
Speaking on the latest edition of Football Insider\u2019s Inside Track podcast, senior correspondent Pete O\u2019Rourke revealed what sources have told him about the Reds\u2019 efforts to sign the 24-year-old.<\/p>\n

Newcastle remain determined to keep hold of their star man, and it would take a \u201chuge\u201d fee to persuade them to sell while the deal has been described as \u201cdifficult\u201d.<\/p>\n
This comes after Football Insider exclusively revealed on 22 May that Gordon is still on Arne Slot\u2019s radar as Liverpool are prepared to reignite their interest.<\/p>\n
Meanwhile, former Man United chief scout Mick Brown told Football Insider that Newcastle could accept offers for Gordon to boost their finances.<\/p>\n
However, sources say the Magpies\u2019 qualification for the Champions League has strengthened their PSR situation and they will be under no pressure to sell their key players.<\/p>\n
More recently, Luis Diaz has been linked with a move away from Anfield, and there is a growing belief that the England international is the top target to replace him if he is sold.<\/p>\n
O\u2019Rourke explained that the Reds have kept a close eye on the winger\u2019s performances this season and could make a move if the opportunity arrives.<\/p>\n
\u201cIt\u2019s a move that would be dependent on a lot of factors,\u201d he told Football Insider.<\/p>\n
\u201cIf Luis Diaz was to leave Liverpool, whether it\u2019s to Barcelona, the Saudi Pro League or somewhere else, they will be in the market for a left-winger.<\/p>\n
\u201cAnthony Gordon came very close to joining Liverpool last summer when Newcastle were being forced to sell some players because of PSR regulations.<\/p>\n
\u201cLiverpool have been keeping tabs on Gordon and remain interested in him.<\/p>\n
\u201cNewcastle, ideally, do not want to lose him as he\u2019s a key man in Eddie Howe\u2019s side.<\/p>\n
\u201cHe signed a long-term deal last October after all that speculation over his future, so to convince Newcastle to sell you\u2019d be looking at \u00a375-80million.<\/p>\n
\u201cIt looks a difficult deal to do, it will take a huge fee to persuade them to sell.<\/p>\n
\u201cWith Champions League football, their PSR situation is looking a lot healthier and they\u2019re under no real pressure to sell their prized assets.\u201d<\/p>\n

Rafael Leao update emerges at Anfield<\/p>\n
Gordon is not the only left-sided winger who has been linked with a move to Anfield this summer, amid speculation surrounding AC Milan star Rafael Leao.<\/p>\n
Brown told Football Insider on 10 June that Liverpool scouts have been tracking Leao as a result of the uncertainty about Diaz\u2019s future.<\/p>\n
The 26-year-old is a target for a number of Premier League clubs amid growing speculation that he could be set to leave Milan for \u201cbig money\u201d this summer.<\/p>\n
This comes after Brown told Football Insider on 18 May that Arsenal are interested in signing Leao and will make a move if Gabriel Martinelli is sold during the transfer window.<\/p>\n

\u201cEven with his injury record, you would think he would have had a value.<\/p>\n
\u201cI think last season they talked about him potentially being sold to Newcastle for something like \u00a325million, so that\u2019s the sort of value that the player has, and that was with one year left of his contract.<\/p>\n
\u201cHe is a player that on form probably has a market value of \u00a340million, something like that. Essentially, Everton are in a position where another club that\u2019s speaking to him, they\u2019re able to get him effectively on a free transfer with no fee.<\/p>\n
\u201cTherefore, they can look at what the overall package is worth. It just seems unlikely that Everton are going to be able to compete with a third party.<\/p>\n
\u201cFor example, you would imagine one of the promoted teams might be saying, \u2018Well, here\u2019s an opportunity to get this player without a fee, so we can wrap up the \u00a310-20million that we were prepared to pay for a striker into the bundle of his wages\u2019.<\/p>\n
