Andy Reid Offers Good News Update On Chiefs Prized Rookie&#8217;s Injury"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><em><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Kansas City Chiefs head coach Andy Reid likes the progress one rookie is making this offseason.<br \/>\n<\/span><\/em><\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/wp.clutchpoints.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/05\/Chiefs-head-coach-Andy-Reid-and-quarterback-Patrick-Mahomes.jpg?w=1200\" alt=\"Chiefs news: Andy Reid gives injury update on prized rookie\" \/><\/p>\n<p>OTAs are now completed for the Kansas City Chiefs, and it has been the first time the coaching staff has been able to get a good gauge on injured rookie tackle Josh Simmons.<\/p>\n<p>Having been sidelined with a patellar injury that ended his college season early, the rookie has been a slow burn so far this offseason, but that doesn&#8217;t mean he hasn&#8217;t been making the coaching staff take notice.<\/p>\n<p>Granted, he can only do so much, but it appears that Simmons is doing far more than initially expected, much to the delight of head coach Andy Reid.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/encrypted-tbn0.gstatic.com\/images?q=tbn:ANd9GcTvnpE3RHbGpObCRhzz622C-mYaUQO7sbpz2le_LSY4S26BmL7Xk5uqIRzNiVFO782hI4c&amp;usqp=CAU\" alt=\"Perfect Backup QB Shows Interest in Playing for Chiefs One Day\" \/><\/p>\n<p><em>&#8220;He&#8217;s doing a nice job,&#8221; Reid said of Simmons. &#8220;We weren&#8217;t sure how much we were going to be able to get out of him, but he looks strong. He&#8217;s been jumping in and taking the team reps now. He was just doing the individual stuff before, and you can definitely see the talent. He&#8217;s got to keep learning and learning the stuff that Andy&#8217;s [Heck, offensive line coach] teaching him and fundamentally, technique-wise, but he sure has a good attitude about it.&#8221;<\/em><\/p>\n<p>That&#8217;s positive for training camp.<\/p>\n<p>Given that Simmons wasn&#8217;t able to do much in the early portion of the offseason program, he is now slowly starting to get his feet underneath him in preparation for training camp.<\/p>\n<p>Granted, the coaching staff will play it slow to avoid any setbacks, but right now, Reid appears to be happy with how Simmons&#8217; offseason arrow is trending.<\/p>\n<p>And that arrow, my friends, is well and truly pointing up.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Kansas City Chiefs head coach Andy Reid likes the progress one rookie is making this offseason.
