{"id":69905,"date":"2025-06-14T14:49:46","date_gmt":"2025-06-14T14:49:46","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/new365.azontree.com\/?p=69905"},"modified":"2025-06-14T14:49:46","modified_gmt":"2025-06-14T14:49:46","slug":"blake-lively-files-motion-to-block-justin-baldoni-from-obtaining-taylor-swift-communication","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/new365.azontree.com\/?p=69905","title":{"rendered":"Blake Lively Files Motion to Block Justin Baldoni From Obtaining Taylor Swift Communication"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Baldoni&#8217;s lawyers have &#8220;repeatedly used Ms. Swift\u2019s name as part of their media strategy,&#8221; actress&#8217; lawyers write in protective order filed Friday<\/p>\n<div>\n<p>Blake Lively\u2019s lawyers filed a motion Friday asking the judge overseeing her lawsuit against Justin Baldoni to block his lawyers from seeking any communication between the actress and Taylor Swift.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.rollingstone.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/06\/GettyImages-1710522932.jpg?w=1581&amp;h=1054&amp;crop=1\" alt=\"Blake Lively Files Motion to Block Justin Baldoni From Obtaining Taylor Swift Communication\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Back in May, Baldoni\u2019s legal team dropped their efforts to subpoena Swift as part as their ongoing legal action against Lively; however, according to Lively\u2019s lawyers, Baldoni and Wayfarer Studios\u2019 lawyers continued to pursue previous communication, via texts and emails, between Lively and Swift as it pertains to the case.<\/p>\n<p><em>On Friday, Lively\u2019s lawyers filed \u201ca protective order regarding the Wayfarer Parties\u2019 continuing demands for Ms. Lively\u2019s communications with Taylor Swift (made again yesterday), which they have pursued at the same time they have refused to produce to Ms. Lively the documents they publicly claimed to have received as part of a deal to withdraw their subpoenas to Ms. Swift and her counsel.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n<p>The motion, obtained by Variety, adds that \u201cMs. Swift is not central to Ms. Lively\u2019s claims (unlike dozens of other witnesses she identified who the Wayfarer Parties have largely ignored), and is otherwise irrelevant to the Wayfarer Parties\u2019 claims,\u201d and that \u201cthe Wayfarer Parties should not be permitted to withhold documents from Ms. Lively while demanding her communications with Ms. Swift.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Earlier this week, Baldoni suffered a massive setback in his own counter legal action against Lively when the judge dismissed his $400 million lawsuit against the actress, her husband Ryan Reynolds, and publicist Leslie Sloane, as well as threw out a separate $250 million lawsuit against the New York Times. (In December,\u00a0<em>The New York Times<\/em>\u00a0published a story\u00a0with Lively\u2018s sexual harassment and smear campaign allegations against Baldoni, which in turn sparked Lively\u2019s lawsuit against Baldoni.)<\/p>\n<section>\n<h2 id=\"section-heading\">Trending Stories<\/h2>\n<\/section>\n<p>A Lively spokesperson told <em>Variety<\/em> Friday, \u201cThe ongoing attempts to once again try and use the world\u2019s biggest star as a PR tactic in this matter reflects a public unraveling of epic proportions and serves only to distract from the fact that Justin Baldoni\u2019s lawsuits against Ms. Lively, Ryan Reynolds, their publicist, and the <em>New York Times<\/em> have been entirely dismissed.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The trial for Lively\u2019s suit against Baldoni is scheduled for March 2026.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Blake Lively\u2019s lawyers filed a motion asking the judge to block Justin Baldoni&#8217;s team from obtaining the communication between her and Taylor Swift.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":2,"featured_media":69910,"comment_status":"closed","ping_status":"closed","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"footnotes":""},"categories":[6],"tags":[],"class_list":["post-69905","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-taylor-swifts"],"yoast_head":"<!-- This site is optimized with the Yoast SEO plugin v23.7 -
