Before Taylor Swift was topping charts and selling out stadiums, she was a little girl with big dreams, and\u00a0Scott and Andrea Swift<\/strong>\u00a0were right beside her, cheering the whole way.<\/p>\n From karaoke nights in Pennsylvania to record label pitches on Nashville\u2019s Music Row, Taylor\u2019s parents helped shape the pop icon we know today. And while they tend to stay out of the spotlight, their behind-the-scenes influence is undeniable.<\/p>\n \u201cShe was always singing when she was 3, 5, 6, 7 years old,\u201d\u00a0Scott once said.\u00a0\u201cIt\u2019s Taylor doing what she likes to do.\u201d Taylor and her younger brother Austin were raised on a\u00a015-acre Christmas tree farm<\/strong>\u00a0in Wyomissing, Pennsylvania, a magical setting that inspired the holiday hit \u201cChristmas Tree Farm.\u201d In 2018, Taylor even made a quiet return to her childhood home, reminiscing about the memories that shaped her.<\/p>\n When Taylor signed with Sony\/ATV at age 14, the family relocated to\u00a0Hendersonville, Tennessee<\/strong>, just outside Nashville. In 2020, she shared that while undergoing treatment, Andrea was also diagnosed with a\u00a0brain tumor<\/strong>.<\/p>\n \u201cShe\u2019s the guiding force,\u201d\u00a0Taylor said.\u00a0\u201cIt was a really hard time for our family.\u201d<\/p>\n Taylor has paid tribute to Andrea in deeply personal songs like\u00a0\u201cThe Best Day\u201d<\/strong>\u00a0and\u00a0\u201cSoon You\u2019ll Get Better.\u201d<\/strong>\u00a0She admitted the latter was difficult to perform and only made it onto\u00a0Lover\u00a0after a\u00a0family discussion<\/strong>.<\/p>\n \u201cIt\u2019s something I\u2019m so proud of, but it\u2019s just really hard,\u201d\u00a0she told fans.\u00a0\u201cI can\u2019t even sing it live.\u201d<\/p>\n In 2019, Taylor also disclosed that\u00a0Scott had battled cancer<\/strong>, though she has kept details private.<\/p>\n Taylor has never shied away from honoring her parents.
