He was initially given a recovery timeline of 8-to-12 weeks.<\/p>\n<p id=\"G6ZXY3N56BH43JPEBLXTRGCADA\">Imaging showed that the healing was not up to the Mets\u2019 hopes and Stearns described it as \u201ca little bit of a setback.\u201d<\/p>\n<p id=\"FLF6FH5FERBSPLH7I53R62EBBQ\">Tyrone Taylor has taken over a full-time role in center field for the Mets with Siri\u2019s injury and has been a bright spot in the Mets\u2019 defense.<\/p>\n<p id=\"GFFRBNKPRVCVPDQTTTNV653SHI\">Siri joined the Mets this offseason via a trade from the Tampa Bay Rays.<\/p>\n<p id=\"7QD3LQT7HBACNI7UZGKMQZKFRA\">The Mets, in theory, have a crowded outfield when it\u2019s healthy (Jesse Winker is also on the IL) but may look to add some depth after this news.<\/p>\n<section data-gaid=\":Rdnaq6:\"><\/section>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<\/article>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Mets president of baseball operations David Stearns spoke to the media on Friday.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":6,"featured_media":69800,"comment_status":"closed","ping_status":"closed","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"footnotes":""},"categories":[3],"tags":[],"class_list":["post-69799","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-mlb"],"yoast_head":"<!-- This site is optimized with the Yoast SEO plugin v23.7 -
