{"id":69273,"date":"2025-06-12T07:53:50","date_gmt":"2025-06-12T07:53:50","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/new365.azontree.com\/?p=69273"},"modified":"2025-06-12T07:53:59","modified_gmt":"2025-06-12T07:53:59","slug":"watch-jonathan-kuminga-put-in-work-ahead-of-restricted-nba-free-agency","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/new365.azontree.com\/?p=69273","title":{"rendered":"Watch Jonathan Kuminga put in work ahead of restricted NBA free agency"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/cdn.vox-cdn.com\/thumbor\/4fv3S0cWT6AvO7LwBbTifEPSb9w=\/0x0:4800x3300\/1200x800\/filters:focal(2037x194:2805x962)\/cdn.vox-cdn.com\/uploads\/chorus_image\/image\/73678311\/2178317911.0.jpg\" alt=\"Could the Sixers target a player like Warriors' Jonathan Kuminga on a rookie deal that didn't get an extension? - Liberty Ballers\" \/><\/p>\n<p>The NBA offseason is underway for most players, but that doesn\u2019t mean they\u2019re taking days off.<\/p>\n<p>Warriors forward &#8212; and pending restricted free agent &#8212; Jonathan Kuminga is staying in the lab, as evidenced by a video posted to X.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"550\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">JK already in the lab getting to work <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/4URe6dtt0l\">pic.twitter.com\/4URe6dtt0l<\/a><\/p>\n<p>&mdash; warriorsworld (@warriorsworld) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/warriorsworld\/status\/1932317243255476675?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">June 10, 2025<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><script async src=\"https:\/\/platform.twitter.com\/widgets.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<figure><\/figure>\n<p>Kuminga followed his breakout 2023-24 NBA season with another solid campaign in 2024-25 as he averaged 15.3 points, 4.6 rebounds and 2.2 assists in 24.3 minutes per game.<\/p>\n<p>The season wasn\u2019t always so smooth, however, as Kuminga dealt with an ankle injury that kept him out of games from early January until the middle of March; he played just 47 games during the regular season.<\/p>\n<p>Kuminga also had to deal with a separate battle: falling out of coach Steve Kerr\u2019s rotation.<\/p>\n<p>The Congolese athlete played in just three games in the Warriors&#8217; seven-game first-round NBA playoff series against the Houston Rockets &#8212; two games were by coach\u2019s decision while the other two were due to illness.<\/p>\n<div>\n<h3>Golden State Warriors<\/h3>\n<p>Find the latest Golden State Warriors news, highlights, analysis and more with NBC Sports Bay Area and California.<\/p>\n<div>\n<div>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<div>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p>In the second round, however, Kuminga sprang into action after injuries to Warriors stars Jimmy Butler and Steph Curry.<\/p>\n<p>A banged-up Butler played the entire series, while Curry missed all but one game against the Minnesota Timberwolves in the Western Conference semifinals.
