With Sale potentially on the market, here is a three-player blockbuster trade proposal that would see the Yankees acquire Sale.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Yankees acquire:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Chris Sale<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Braves acquire:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Spencer Jones<\/li>\n<li>Brock Selvidge<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The proposed deal would be a blockbuster as New York would acquire Sale for two top-10 prospects, including their second-ranked prospect.<\/p>\n<p>The Yankees would acquire Sale, who\u2019s earning $22 million this season and has a club option for $18 million. Sale would be the Yankees\u2019 No. 3 starter behind Max Fried and Carlos Rodon, which would be a great three-man rotation for a playoff series. Sale is 4-4 with a 2.79 ERA in 14 starts this season. He won the NL Cy Young in 2024 and is an eight-time All-Star, as well as winning the World Series with the Boston Red Sox in 2018.<\/p>\n<p>Acquiring Sale won\u2019t be cheap, and in the trade proposal, the Yankees part ways with two of their top prospects. The Braves would acquire Jones, who\u2019s an outfield prospect and the Yankees\u2019 second-ranked prospect. Jones was selected in the first round of the 2022 MLB Draft and is playing in AA and could reach the majors as early as this season. He\u2019s hitting .220 with 10 home runs this season.<\/p>\n<p>The Yankees would also trade their eighth-ranked prospect in Selvidge. The left-hander was a third-round pick in 2021 and is pitching in AA. Selvidge has risen up the ranks and could reach the majors this year, which makes him an enticing trade chip.<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<h2>MLB Analyst Believes Braves Will Trade Sale<\/h2>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/d.newsweek.com\/en\/full\/2657484\/atlanta-braves-starting-pitcher-chris-sale.jpg?w=1200&amp;f=7d0b896b3ae183712124a2e144e177f5\" alt=\"Yankees-Braves Trade Idea Gives New York Another Hard Throwing Left-Handed Pitcher - Newsweek\" \/><\/p>\n<p>With Atlanta under .500, the Braves could be a team to watch in the trade market ahead of the deadline.<\/p>\n<p>Atlanta has several intriguing trade chips, but none bigger than Sale. Several teams will be after the left-hander, and MLB analyst Chris Rose thinks the Braves will trade the former Cy Young winner.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI\u2019ll give you one other name, Chris Sale\u2026 He is the piece that teams, in a lack of starting pitching market at the trade deadline, that could swing maybe the entire playoffs,\u201d Rose\u00a0said\u2026 \u201cWhen you are talking about something that could fetch you, I\u2019m not talking High-A prospects here. I\u2019m talking about young guys that can help you continue to make the Braves really relevant.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The Braves could get a hefty return for Sale, which is why Atlanta may opt to move him.<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<h2>Yankees GM Hints at Team Adding Pitching<\/h2>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Every contending team in baseball always needs more pitching, and that is the case for the Yankees.<\/p>\n<p>New York has lost Gerrit Cole for the season, while Luis Gil has yet to pitch this season.
