OK, thank you.\u201d Ohtani replied.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>\u201cThis is from my wife [Tricia] and me to you and your family and your daughter,\u201d Roberts said. \u201cSo, we have jokes always. This is a little bit of a joke. It\u2019s a Porsche. This is going to be your daughter\u2019s first car.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>\u201cThank you, I love it,\u201d Ohtani said.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>He then said in English: \u201cI thought I\u2019m in trouble. Some trouble.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n<p>The origin of the Porsche jokes were born last season when Ohtani first joined the Dodgers. Ohtani gifted Joe Kelly\u2019s wife, Kelly, an actual Porsche as a thank you for the reliever giving up No. 17.<\/p>\n<p>Roberts, who previously held the franchise record of seven home runs by a Japanese-born player, teased that Ohtani should gift him a Porsche once he broke the record. Ohtani listened to his skipper\u2019s request, but added a hilarious twist.<\/p>\n<p>Ohtani bought Roberts a mini toy Porsche and placed it in his parking lot space as a practical joke.
