\"PhoenixThe\u00a0Phoenix Suns<\/a>\u00a0and\u00a0Miami Heat<\/a>\u00a0both had disappointing 2024-25 seasons.<\/p>\n

The Suns missed the playoffs and play-in tournament despite having\u00a0Kevin Durant<\/a>,\u00a0Devin Booker<\/a>\u00a0and Bradley Beal. Mike Budenholzer was fired as head coach after just one year in the desert.<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, the Heat were forced to trade\u00a0Jimmy Butler<\/a>\u00a0after the All-Star requested a trade. Miami traded Butler to the\u00a0Golden State Warriors<\/a>.<\/p>\n

While the Heat made the playoffs this year, unlike the Suns, they were swept in the first round by the\u00a0Cleveland Cavaliers<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The Suns are widely expected to trade Durant this offseason and one\u00a0NBA<\/a>\u00a0analyst believes the Heat should acquire the future Hall of Famer, who only has one year left on his contract.<\/p>\n

Sam Quinn of CBS Sports<\/a>\u00a0proposed the following three-team trade idea between the Suns, Heat and\u00a0Portland Trail Blazers<\/a>:<\/p>\n

Suns get: Andrew Wiggins, Robert Williams III, Nikola Jovi\u0107, 2030 first-round pick, 2032 first-round pick<\/p>\n

Heat get: Kevin Durant<\/p>\n

Trail Blazers get: Duncan Robinson<\/p>\n

Durant averaged 26.6 points, 6.0 rebounds and 4.2 assists for the Suns this season while shooting 52.7% from the field, 43.0% from beyond the arc and 83.9% from the free-throw line. He turns 37 in\u00a0September.<\/p>\n

“So, is Durant worth it? The answer is yes, at least if Kel’el Ware continues to grow as the team hopes,” Quinn wrote. “That might not be the case if the\u00a0Boston Celtics<\/a>\u00a0were still at full power, but, with apologies to the\u00a0Indiana Pacers<\/a>, the Eastern Conference throne is vacant right<\/p>\n

“There is no obvious juggernaut holding it. A team built around\u00a0\u00a0Tyler Herro<\/a>, Durant and\u00a0Bam Adebayo<\/a>\u00a0would have a real chance to seize it. Durant has career averages of 27.2 points, 7.0 rebounds and 4.4 assists with the\u00a0Oklahoma City Thunder<\/a>, Golden State Warriors,\u00a0Brooklyn Nets<\/a>\u00a0and Suns.<\/p>\n

KD won two championships and two Finals MVPs with the Warriors but hasn’t gotten back to the NBA Finals since leaving Golden State for Brooklyn in 2019.<\/p>\n
