The Kansas City Chiefs were the best team in the league in close games this past season.<\/div>\n

The\u00a0Kansas City Chiefs<\/a>\u00a0went 15-2 in the 2024 season on their way to the\u00a0Super Bowl<\/a>, and the team was 11-0 in games that ended with a score differential of seven or less.<\/p>\n

In a recent article by\u00a0ESPN’s Ben Solak<\/a>, he puts together a list of 100 things to know heading into the 2025 season. And he makes a bold prediction that the Chiefs are not going to be able to continue that trend and will be worse this season.<\/p>\n

“Everyone is too afraid, so I’ll be the guy to say it: The Chiefs were 11-0 in one-score games last season, and they’re not going to pull that off again. (Right?),” Solar said half-jokingly. “The defensive depth chart is pretty rough as well.<\/p>\n

“They’re going to be worse in 2025. (Right?!)”<\/p>\n

The\u00a0Buffalo Bills<\/a>\u00a0gave the Chiefs their first loss of the year in Week 10, then the team’s only loss the rest of the season came in Week 17 against the\u00a0Denver Broncos<\/a>, where the Chiefs played virtually none of their starters.<\/p>\n

The most notable games that ended with the Chiefs narrowly winning were in Weeks 1 and 9 against the\u00a0Baltimore Ravens<\/a>\u00a0and Broncos, respectively. The first ended with Ravens tight end Isaiah Likely missing a game-tying touchdown by a shoe size, and the second saw the Chiefs winning after a blocked field goal.<\/p>\n

Patrick Mahomes<\/a>\u00a0and company fell to the\u00a0Philadelphia Eagles<\/a>\u00a0in the Super Bowl this past season, so they will be looking to continue to win close games and get back to the big game.<\/p>\n
