Former\u00a0Chicago Bulls<\/a>\u00a0star and five-time\u00a0NBA<\/a>\u00a0champion Ron Harper is speaking out after buzz grew around his son, Dylan Harper, possibly being picked by the\u00a0San Antonio Spurs<\/a>\u00a0in the 2025 NBA Draft.<\/p>\n

Following the Spurs landing the No. 2 overall pick in Monday night\u2019s NBA Draft Lottery, many fans and analysts began linking Dylan Harper to San Antonio as a potential top selection.<\/p>\n

The 6’6″ guard from\u00a0Rutgers<\/a>\u00a0Scarlet Knights is widely viewed as the second-best prospect in this year\u2019s class, just behind\u00a0Duke<\/a>\u00a0Blue Devils star Cooper Flagg.<\/p>\n

But Ron Harper isn\u2019t ready to buy into the hype just yet.<\/p>\n

\u201cWell wait until we hear his name call first.. nothing is guarantee,\u201d\u00a0he wrote on X<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The Spurs have a big decision to make. After moving up from the No. 8 spot to No. 2 in the lottery, they now hold both the 2nd and 14th overall picks.<\/p>\n

While Flagg is expected to go No. 1 to the\u00a0Dallas Mavericks<\/a>, the Spurs could add Harper to an already young and talented core that includes\u00a0Victor Wembanyama<\/a>\u00a0and Stephon Castle\u2014both recent Rookie of the Year winners.<\/p>\n

Dylan Harper averaged 19.4 points, 4.6 rebounds and 4.0 assists\u00a0per game<\/a>\u00a0during his only college season. He stood out with his scoring skills and strong play in the\u00a0Big Ten<\/a>\u00a0tournament, where he dropped 27 points against USC.<\/p>\n
